I assume you are referring to the (hopefully) upcoming movie? It seemed a bit uncertain a while ago, but I just checked on IMDB.com and it looks like The Hobbit Part 1 is set for a 2011 release, and The Hobbit Part 2 in 2012! Also looks like good ol' Peter Jackson is involved in the screenplay! Yay!!!

*grumble, grumble* Jackson had better deliver considering how much time he is giving himself!

I hope so. I still can't believe we have a whole year to wait! Lol, did anyone here hear of how for LOTR, Jackson had the mugs HAND-CARVED! That's why his movies are so good....and so expensive! He has an eye for the details.

I can't wait for the movie either! (the new director had better be as good as Jackson lol)
Hand-Carved?? Shows how much he wanted an authentic atmosphere for the movie! It definitely showed throughout the movies!

Jeez hand-carved?? That's awesome! I don't know if they've provided a release date yet.. if anyone would know it would be Matt lol! He's got all of the wisdom in that area! Haha
Re: What's up at Bag End??????
haha, my thanks, Brendon! ...except I'd be foolish to state I am the source of this wisdom, for I wish to remain wise! lol
Apart from the 2011 and 2012 release dates for the first and second parts of the hobbit, there's no official date set. Apparently, a script has just been written and is awaiting the green light to start production. I read this information on imdb.com, so I imagine they will continue to have more updates in the coming months.

Yeah it would seem outa wack if he made it seem apart. Though the Hobbit does seem to encourage that. Elrond is the only guy who seems the same in both LOTR and the Hobbit

Re: What's up at Bag End??????
I went to New Zealand last year and I saw all the places that LOTR was filmed (well most of the places). I got to go to The Hill of Hobbiton and saw all the Hobbit-holes. Inside there is nothing, except with Bilbo's house it has a very small room. The things filmed that was inside Bilbo's Hobbit-hole was done in a completely different place (I think they did that in Wellington). The place that had the Hobbit-holes was somewhere near Christchurch or something.

I also saw the shallow river that when Arwen had Frodo on her horse with her and the was Nazgul chasing them.
We had a book that said all the places where LOTR was filmed so we actually saw most places.
We didn't see Mordor (I think that was probably made on the computer with effects and stuff).

That's awesome! I've always wanted to go to New Zealand, sounds like an awesome place.
